Harvest

The harvest in the United States averaged 63,020 Canvasbacks from 1999 to 2008: 41.0% in the Mississippi Flyway, 25.6% in the Pacific Flyway, 25.3% in the Central Flyway; and 8.1% in the Atlantic Flyway. Most of the Mississippi Flyway harvest occurred in Louisiana (25.1%), Minnesota (23.7%), Wisconsin (15.7%), and Illinois (13.3%).

In Canada, the harvest of Canvasbacks averaged 8,794 from 1999 to 2008, with a high of 13,157 in 2005. Over this time period, 48.8% were harvested in Manitoba, 19.4% in Saskatchewan, 19.2% in Ontario, 11.9% in Alberta, and 0.7% in the remaining provinces.
